I used to be a self proclaimed facebook addict.
Then I shared my addiction with my husband. Ooops. Now he is the one with the true facebook obsession. Don't get me wrong, I still check it every night, but it's just not doin' it for me like it used to. I wondered why I began to gravitate to reading mommy blogs instead...
Here are my top reasons for taking a few minutes away from your facebook to read my mommy blog:
1) There are no mafia wars.
2) There are no events to be invited to here and therefore not a feeling of guilty obligation to attend any events or to RSVP to such events.
3) There is no farmville!
4) There are no creepy Satanic worshippers trying to be your friend
5) There are no more "pages" to be a fan of. Just one fanclub here, that's it folks!
6) Statuses can only be so long.
7) Alternatively, statuses can be a little TMI (=too much informaaaaation!)
8) Photos of my kids are right in here embedded in my posts - you have no choice but to admire them. You don't even have to click - just scroll!
9) Blogs can be informative. Or fun. Or enlightening. Or even therapeutic.
10) I'm honest about the chaos in my life. It might just make you feel better about yours.
10) I won't poke you.
11) You only need one friend here (Yep you got it, that would be me)

I LOVED this post. I totally feel the same way. I am on FB but I don't really do anything over there but I do get the appeal for people that don't like to write or want to stay in touch with others.
Anyway, great post. I stopped over from SITS to say hi and welcome.

uh I just read your profile and you gave birth to 3 babies over 9lbs!?!? You need to be shouting that from the rooftops! In fact that should be your tagline!

FB can drive me nuts! Definitely TMI and way too many dumb games :)
Thanks for your comment on MTC. I do like the organic and recipes :) It just isn't what my blog is about. When I start talking about science I tend to get dorky, LOL! I am more passionate about helping people save money.
Great blog by the way!

Ugh, I hate Mafia Wars and Farmville and all those others, too!
Great blog, looking forward to reading more :)

I still love my facebook, but I agree, mommy blogs are much more fun to read! Thanks for stopping by my blog & I hope you'll come back to visit again. I've been keeping up with yours too - I love it!

LOL! Great list... Facebook HAS become such a bore, even moreso with all these stupid applications... What is the purpose of a virtual farm, garden or war anyway?
Mommy blogs are so much more fun to read. And they DO help others. Sometimes it's just nice to know that someone else feels the same way as you do... Or understands where you are coming from...

Thought my comment went through, but guess not. If this is a double, please forgive. Really loved this post, made me laugh this morning. I also got my husband hooked on FB, then he started tweeting before me...go figure. Thanks again for the laugh. Great post.
